This tweet is from leader that talked about what schools do differently to make their school innovative. The list included 5 ideas: they are not afraid, are not afraid to make mistakes, are transparent, use technology correctly, and are connected. I think this list is perfect. All five of these ideas are connected to each other. The technology is used to collaborate in the classroom, which when they are communicating about being connected they are talking about social media and websites with the community. School cannot be afraid to get connected and make mistakes with the technology and have to be transparent to change. I believe this list will work perfectly for any school if they try their best to become a innovative 21st century school.
2. 3 Ways to Encourage Student-Centered Learning: http://edut.to/1g2pToS #**edchat**#**ntchat**
*This tweet was great. It communicated about the idea of creating a student-centered classroom, to obtain the best knowledge and advanced the student's learning. They talked about three topics. The first topic was committing to personalized learning, such as accommodating to the students needs when it comes to their multiple intelligences. The second topic is about student-teacher relationships and how important they are. This clearly is a huge aspect in any classroom, but for student-cented learning, teachers need to understand the many learners about the students in their classroom, and you will only know that if you have a caring relationship with the student. The finally topic is being grounded in reflection and revision. As a teacher we need to adapt to the many changes in the classroom. Sometimes changes mean changing to what does not work. After every lesson, they described how important it is to reflect in what worked and what didn't work.**
This was a tweet from the Twitter page of "We are Teachers". This is a great tweet. It discusses various websites that can be used in the classroom from types of technology that include, social media, websites to make lesson plans exciting, useful filing websites, ways to assess the students, and much more. This link include 50 technology aspects, and many we are lucky enough to learn about in tech in edu. Some of the apps include: Twitter, Animota, Facebook, Prezi, Dropbox, Quizlet, and Google Docs. Like I said there are 50 of them, but this is just a few. Out of the ones i mentioned i believe Google Docs tops them all. With the Chrome Books today, this will be used to enhance the students writing skills, but also their technology experience.
While we are creating a lesson plan currently for history, I felt this was an appropriate tweet, because of the section of gifted students. Each teacher will see the students in their classroom and we will have to accommodate to their needs, This webpage gave three ideas. Idea number 1 included extending their learning on the current topic. Have a "go to" activity ready for the students. The second idea is to encourage student-to-student teaching. This will help them give insights to other students, but they may also take away some new knowledge from the other students. The final idea is allow focus reading. What they mean by this, is try to have them read a certain type of book, versus a book that they pull from a box.
In the school system today, the outlook of how things are being discussed and taught are through technology aspects. This tweet communicated about 4 websites or resources you can use to find better ways to respond, when schools can not afford the materials needed for the classroom. The 4 ideas included: open source, commerical software, Move Towards The Cloud, and Search You Will Find It. Out of these 4 topics, I believe searching is the best option. If you look many of the datebases and websites will give you information, that is for educational uses.
In the world of technology, there are many forms out there that are used in the schools around the nation. Many schools have adapted iPads, chromebooks, and other tablets and PC's that will help the student engage in the classroom. This article discussed why chromebooks are a better choice in the classrooms. Some reasons that they gave were that the price is better for what you are getting, you will get them fast, security on them are good, they turn on fast, battery last for a long time, they can be shared, and come with a management device with it.
This tweet discussed how they believe social media, more specfically Instagram is developing into a great tool that us as future educators can use in our 21st century classroom. It communicated 3 main topics on how it will help students advance in their learning. With instagram they are able to work on their processing skills through a instragram post verse just words. It also gives the idea a sense of becoming a author, when they are able to publish their own material. Finally they are able to write captions to make their post visually attractive, so they are able to work on writing skills as well.
This tweet talked about how the cogntive processing of the brains today are thinking different, especially with technology and the 21st century. It first talked about how students need to be interactive. Sitting around and listening to lectures has never been ideal. Using technology to intergrated movement will help. Then it also communicated about on-demand teaching, such as the idea of flipping the class, which we learned about in Tech in Edu. While they talked about 7 different ideas how technology will help, the last one that I believe is the most important is that everything is mobile. Yes, our equipment and technology is but our students brains and their movement is always moving and changing for what is new. We need to incorprate that new technology.
This tweet brought me to a link that was about 50 resources that we can use in our classrooms. Technology is a huge aspect of our 21st century, and needs to be used. One thing that was different about this tweet was that it communicated about websites we can go to to find out tips and apps for iPads, not just apps. While apps are nice to know, knowing secret tips will help you teach the students more how to use the technology.
This tweet/picture described the 21st century perfectly. Education is changing around us all the time, and when we finally understand the differentiated instruction and technology are connected, we will be more successful in teaching our students. This will be done if we meet the needs of all the students using the multiple intelligences and understanding the different level of learners we have such as gifted and ELL leaners.
